The day-and-night infiltration of streams and the everlasting accumulation of fields endow Tianhuang with a unique texture of delicate, clear, moist and pleasant. Tianhuangshi, produced in the paddy field near Shoushan River in the northern suburb of Fuzhou City, Fujian Province, is named for its yellowish color. Tianhuangdang, a rare crop of Shoushan Stone, is known as the "King of Stones". As early as more than a thousand years ago, some people began to collect Tianhuangshi in China. By the Ming and Qing Dynasties, Tianhuangshi was even more famous in the world. Many high-ranking officials and noble scholars competed to collect Tian Huangshi deliberately. Legend has it that in the early Qing Dynasty, the emperor offered sacrifices to the heavens, on one hand, there was no lack of Pintian Huangshi on the other. Therefore, Tianhuangshi has been well-known and has doubled its value.
Tianhuangshi, known as "King of All Stones", is a treasure in Shoushan Stone Series. Its warm and lovely color, fine texture, since the Ming and Qing Dynasties has been regarded as the "King of Seals". Shoushan Tianhuangshi is produced in a stream field less than one square kilometer in Shoushan Village, Shoushan Township, Fujian Province. It is called Tianhuangshi because of its yellow color. Tianhuangshi is soft in texture and its specific gravity is between 2.6g/cm3-2.65g/cm3. It is called "soft gem" and "soft gold" in China. It is the best material for carving seals. Its preciousness lies in the fact that only in the sands beneath the narrow paddy fields on both sides of Shoushanxi River in the world can this kind of field yellow stone be found. It is a high-quality natural stone with "no roots but plain" and "no veins to find". After hundreds of years of mining, it is now extinct, so it seems very precious.
Tianhuangshi has always been well-known and has doubled in value. There was an old saying, "An inch of Tianhuang and an inch of gold". Moreover, its resources tend to be exhausted, so the price growth of Tianhuang is immeasurable. A good Tianhuangshi, especially the carefully carved Tianhuangshi seal, is a rare treasure that collectors dream of.
